This song was birthed in March 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic first struck. I wondered, “What was God doing in the midst of all this? How is His hand moving, even in this chaos?” I felt that the Lord was issuing an awakening call to His people - to acknowledge and revere Him as Sovereign Lord. We are often familiar with God as Lover, Father, Friend; this moment of history reminds us that He is also the God to be revered.

This line from the song, taken from Psalm 86:11, is a prayer - that God will give us a holy fear that spurs us to lead lives that are tested by fire and purified for His delight.
